Everyman Concept

My show concept for Everyman is to use the world of The Sandman by Neil Gaiman to create a similar environment in costumes, set, lighting and effects.

I reinterpreted the feel and style of the characters of The Sandman series into the characters of Everyman while not relying on an audience well versed in The Sandman.  The Sandman series incorporates Greek myths, fairy tales and reinterpreted ancient myths which I will give the inspiration for characters based off of the same characters.  An important part of the series that will be incorporated into the design is the 7 family members that make up the Endless, or the rulers of this universe..  

The Sandman series contains the realm of dreams which is the realm that the Sandman has domain over.  Death has her own realm which is where this version of Everyman is set.  The set for Everyman will then take some concepts from the realm of dreams and apply them to a realm of death such as vaguely bare stage containing only floating platforms.
